Re: A Fleeting Hope ( Darkee ) « Result #1 on Nov 22, 2009, 2:51pm »
Velerus went through the forest in perfect tranquility. He held himself in such a way he seemed overly self-adoring as he felt the new warmth seep swiftly into his skin and through his fingertips. He was now a fair snow beige colour. Lifting his head to the sky, he exhaled at length; glad it was a long, tepid breath, and as he walked, he was happy of the faint crunch his feet made on the verdant floor. He didn't care.
Soon, he came out into a clearing. The ground was mainly lush grass, dappled with sunlight that had broken out at last while they had been under cover of the forest. The pines had given way to little green ash trees. He marvelled at how picturesque it was. Then he smiled, and stepped out into it. The sun was warm on his skin... and he enjoyed it.
"Thankyou, Riley..." he breathed, with a small laugh. The middle of the glade was taken up by a pool of crystal-blue water. A beautiful little waterfall tumbled into it; steam rose from it in humid clouds and the air seemed to hiss, a voice just imploring anyone and everyone who came near to submerse themselves in its waters. Velerus went forward. Once his clothes were off, he sank into the hot spring without even testing the temperature; it was boiling, but it made him shudder with pleasure as the heat enveloped his new body and his red eyes intensified with the liquid that now ran through him.
He relaxed for a while.
Then new thoughts began to occur to him. He actually couldn't believe they hadn't came to him before. Riley had blood.
If he had 'no heart', then that shouldn't have been possible - or at least it wouldn't have been flowing around his body, and therefore it wouldn't have satisfied Velerus earlier. Well, then he thought, Riley must have meant the other heart - the core of himself. The casket of emotions. He remembered his kind being called the 'heartless' ones before - it was a foolish lie. Could Riley be talking nonsense about himself? Or was he just lying? He could do that to make himself a pitiful figure, or as a means of strengthening their union, by forging oaths. But if he wasn't lying, that must change his blood -
Suddenly, his stomach griped. He lurched forwards, hand on his abdomen, and gasped. It twisted again and he cried out in agony. Then the pains increased - they increased in intensity and came faster and faster until his whole body was convulsing. Then, he turned to the side of the spring, and, in one long last spasm, he vomited, violently. It was a dark puddle of blackish indigo, vivid against the light rock. He stared at it incredulously for a long moment, and then shivered, and slipped his upper body back into the water. Looking down, he saw in his reflection, though unclear in the mist, that his skin was almost white again, and that his lips were a bruised, purplish colour. He touched them softly, and was thankful for the clouds of steam that blocked out the sun.
Then he started to feel angry at Riley. That boy with bad blood and no heart. How could he cheat him like this? He gritted his teeth, frustrated with himself, too, because he knew that it wasn't Riley's fault; but he couldn't help but feel resentment to the boy. He took his hand away from his stomach, though it still ached a little, and, for the most part, waited for Riley to follow him.
(OOC: Okay, I have to share this with you. When I started the post I was looking for more words for 'walking', and these were some of the possibilities: Velerus hit the road through the forest Velerus hoofed it through the forest Velerus took a walk through the forest Velerus perambulated through the forest Velerus toddled through the forest...

When he pulled away, he could just about see that the other male was half dazed, eyes half open. Riley kept his gaze fixed on the ground, an almost embarrassed look on his face, the pale tint of red still on his cheeks. He felt himself wince, a sudden pain going through his mind though not causing him to make any loud sound or obvious movement. The human's eyes closed, instantly stopping the slight disfocus in sight.
Suddenly, he felt a hand on his head, most likely from Velerus. His eyes instantly opened when he felt another hand by his crotch, a gentle touch. A quiet, dull squeak escaped the eighteen year old when his head was jerked to the side, downwards. His teeth bared a bit, a soft growl escaping from him. What the hell was going on?! Riley winced a bit, shivering, hearing the words that his supposed ally spoke.
Then he felt sharp teeth penetrate his skin, and the human just had to let out a loud but strangled yelp. He started shaking, pain in his neck, pain in his chest, pain in his head, and a slight tense of muscles in his lower half of his body, trying to get him to run, attempt to run, but no, he was frozen...
He didn't realise that he was holding his breath. A gasp for air escaped him when those lips, those fangs left his neck. Riley was still frozen, his skin colder than normal. His eyes were wide and a deep blue, their usual sparkle gone. He felt Velerus let go of him, and the eighteen year old immediately sunk to his knees, hands on the floor, back bent slightly. He was still shaking a bit.
Riley heard another few words, then soft footsteps that were dulled by the lushness of the jungle. He coughed, and coughed again, feeling ill. He pulled a hand away from the ground, moving it towards his chest and clutching at his, well supposed-to-be-there heart. It hurt, it hurt so much... Riley bit his lip, wondering why he didn't get the clues. The pale skin, the almost noticeable sharp teeth, the seductive, velvety voice... He should have noticed that Velerus was a vampire, not a human...
A small sob escaped him as he moved his hand up to his neck, clutching at it, flinching, feeling only a few drops of blood there. He was silent for a moment, gritting his teeth in pain as he stared down at the ground. Then, he heard footsteps, nearby, and that was enough to make his eyes widen and jump up, though end up collapsing again. He closed his eyes, biting his lip, hearing the footsteps again. Was it his imagination? Riley sniffed a bit, forcing himself to sit up and look around, his gaze passing over an almost transparent figure who's head was down, leaning against a tree. It shot back to the figure, but he saw nothing.
Then those footsteps again. Riley flinched, paranoid that Velerus was going to come back for him, to drain him of all blood in his body...

Your current character(s):--- Kibato, Ryuukaji, Akira, Fain, Kjrn and Constantus
---------------------------------------- YOUR CHARACTER INFO ----------------------------------------
Character Name: Namirikan: Kibato Henshin Kyuuketsuki-Akahonoo This is what he is most commonly known as Naoptaic: Velerus Vermulicio (Lami-Vermicendalia) This is what he calls himself here Nabarinian: Zalévat Forvlian (Vereníses-Biĺacma) He is rarely known by this name except in meetings with humans, warriors, and outside races.
His names literally mean 'fang'; 'transformation'; 'vampire'-'red flames'.
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Appearance: The first thing one may notice about Velerus may be his stark white skin (though usually only his face and sometimes hands are shown), or his feminine beauty. He has the smooth, 'perfect' face and deep red eyes that all Haeirkraea possess, with a full head of wavy (slightly curly) black hair, ending just below the shoulder-blades. He usually wears rather tight black clothes, an ankle-length cloak, thickly fur-rimmed at the top, and very high-heeled, thigh-length boots.
Just after drinking, his lips will flush a very admirable dark carnelian. After a day if he does not drink again, they will maybe change from cardinal to chestnut, and then over the space of four days, lighten through fleshy pinks to almost white again. This will be after four days, when he needs to drink again, and may take on a slightly gaunt appearance. If his thirst is not sustained after four days, he will begin to waste away into something far less than beautiful, but it can gradually be restored if he drinks fresh human blood.
Personality: Velerus has a very poor sense of justice, and unfortunately cannot tolerate those who disagree with his concepts or views, or interfere with his plans. He could easily do away with his enemies as his strength is further increased by his unpredictable fits of rage; he is used to being in charge, and in control.
He has always possessed a dangerous seductive power. Before he has been able to bewitch and enchant people either with promises, with his appearance, with his alleged hypnotic powers, or with his charming, silver tongue. Here we could also add that his voice is of exceptional loveliness.
He is very proud of his admirable features, as he is generally an arrogant, smug and conceited character. Here, he is attempting to cover it up at first with his more charming side while he gains at least one ally, then slowly relaxing.
Abilities: As a vampire, his sight, hearing and senses are heightened beyond those of any mortal Man. He is also capable of reaching abnormal speeds without effort, and he also possesses a rare strength. However, this power has been lessened of late.
His amíra (Henshin/Vermulicio/Forvlian) was given to him by his private tutor, who realised that Velerus had the rare potential to be a shape-shifter. Over his early years he swiftly developed his ability and can currently take on the following forms (he has also given them names);
Frimillia ~ a huge eagle, bigger than any man. Its power is immense although in areas such as forests, or buildings, its speed is hindered.
Maeculitas ~ a small, sleek black cat. Apart from its red-orange eyes, it looks like a normal cat. It allows Velerus to move around quickly without being as easily noticed as he would be racing around in human form. However it can leave him a little vulnerable.
Aeronimus ~ in this form, he is next to invisible. He has more or less taken the form of the air. However it is difficult to maneuver as he wishes and leaves him with no form of attack. In this form he can also merge into different surfaces, but only for a limited time.
Laecyculis ~ a great black wolf. In this form he cannot speak and is easily noticed by scent and sight, but has excellent agility and strength. He often uses this form as an alias so that afterwards, no one may recognise him.
Atra Nima ~ a tiny, tiny black bird. He uses this as another alias for spying, if the need ever be. Mid-transformation, which normally takes one or two seconds, he looks more like a large, mutant, hunch-backed, black feathered creature. It is rather frightening.
Weapons: A long, thin-bladed sword, with a ruby-encrusted pommel and made of pure silver. Image.
Summons: None.
History: Velerus was highborn into the Kyuuketsuki, a House of Haeirkreaea vampires residing in the city of Ingeńost, in the shadow of the Amráget mountains. At that time, the House's leader, Fveitzinia, was 136 years old and was soon be succeeded. However, his son, Thaenland, was blind, deaf and without a sense of smell or touch in the whole of his left side; he was not a suitable heir, and therefore the inheritance fell to Velerus, his only child.
Velerus was an intelligent, fast-learning student, and was soon noticed for his gift of transformation, his skill for playing various instruments, his exceptional beauty, and also for his short temper and impatient demands. He had a secret. At sixteen, he became unable to wait any longer for his unrelentingly youthful grandfather to die, and he plotted to kill him. He did not let his tutor know, but he began to develop his shape of a wolf. When it was perfected, he attacked his grandfather with it when he was alone, and it seemed a lone wolf had slaughtered him.
Velerus was now head of the Kyuuketsuki, and could command it however he wished. He went about ordering the impure members of the House - this was any vampire of partial vampiric lineage - anyone who had human ancestors - to be executed. They had been frowned upon before, but Velerus despised them, and he would do something about their too-large numbers. He would clean up their race.
He has never lost sight of his 'noble goal', but he has other ideas. All his life he has been weakened by an ancient, revived affliction, and in recent years he has suffered the most. It was rumoured that the Warriors of the earth, always at odds with the House, could be smote by no ill, and that in their blood they held enormous power. One of these Warriors had, unusually, been born into the Kyuuketsuki. He had little blood in him. If he consumed this blood, he would be cured of his affliction. He would possess a strength stronger than any had ever known. And if he consumed it all... The warrior would die, and the Alliance would fall apart.
So he coveted the red-haired warrior, attempted to seduce him, to build a promise of an alliance with him. It was never forged. The warrior's alliance with Men, and with Toazimní, Velerus' former runaway messenger, was too strong and too passionate.
However, he still chased the warrior, he hunted him down. When the darkness shook the world, and the warriors were sucked down into the oblivion of the distant galaxies, he followed of his own will, to claim what he considered his.

He was aware that the young man had caught sense of him in some way or another, but the slight smile remained plastered on the porcelain, and the head stayed downcast, the dark burgundy eyes narrowed, wondering and listening. A great deal of hacking and slashing there had in the clearing of stone to his side, and he paid it heed while ne'er the less unwatching, ears scrutinizing in the place of the bloody pools.
But now the black misty storm had cleared, and as the last inky cloud washed over him he inhaled the scent that might be carried on the wind of battle; It smelt of nothing, save black emptiness. The smile momentarily faded into a ponderous pout. This was a land of dead; or at least of the hollow.
Was he hollow?
He turned his head up to the figure as a chilling gust swept his own scent towards where the other was standing. Almost sickly sweet, it must smell. There was nothing about him that the unobservant might comprehend. It was just by chance then that the immaterial foggy flames of light rising from the thin teetering stands flickered, and the shadow was lifted from most of his body. It concealed, however, his eyes and upwards. His bloodless lips and white skin had a greenish tint to them in the eerie luminosity, but his many layers of dark clothes remained their blackest, save for the midnight blue that became a murky turquoise. Whether or not his possibly shocking irises could be espied in the shadows was unclear, but they glimmered in the light as he finally stepped out, slowly, not meeting the eyes of the other young man.
"What would a mere mortal be doing, wandering around a land of dead, and getting into trouble?" he teased as he sauntered out, in a smooth and somewhat feminine voice of velvet. "I would hope, not anything too foolish that would mark me wrong..." He stopped for a second, then; his left hand that was hidden indiscretely reached towards the silgéad hilt of his own blade, and lightly wrapped his fingers around the handle, his absent eyes wider, but the upturned corners of his mouth still in their deceiving place. Then he turned his head completely away, and stared his narrow eyes into the stone floor. "Goodness me. Hiding down here, in this dank little place. Because it is so terribly hot..." He winced. "How weak of me..." He breathed the word that was applicable. The affliction was gnawing at him...

Soon Velerus' mind wandered from the beauty of that red-haired warrior to the cynical thoughts of him and his allies again. How exactly they would... discuss this pressing matter. He almost forgot about the boy walking next to him.
So when he was suddenly thrown against a tree and awakened to the sound of low growling and malicious accusations and the slight internal snapping of the trunk under the force, it was a harsh realisation. His hands automatically went to the boy's throat, but he was restrained somehow and could only grapple futilely at the arms that pinned him there. 'Lying about what?!' he thought, though in his fury only hisses and his own hellish growls escaped his teeth. They were exposed in a fierce snarl. His fingernails dug into Riley's flesh hard enough to pierce it. His eyes flamed lividly. He raised a knee to kick -
But then he was stopped. His fingernails loosened their bruising hold a little. His foot slowly touched the ground again and all sound from him stopped. His first thoughts were of vehement anger that he should have such advances made towards him. By a human! But then, he felt the warmth of his lips against his; the kiss burned into him intensely. His opened his mouth to drink in the scent, so delicious and human now... the moment seemed to last a long time.
But it was not. He did not hear the last words but stood there dazed, his eyes still half-closed. He closed his mouth and recoiled as the smell of the forest crept back in, repungent. Then he stared at Riley with his back turned to him. His form was slightly wavering at the edges with that sense of life, and of heat. He was drawn to it.
Silently he glided along the ground and, standing behind him, he put a hand on his head. It pounded beneath his fingertips. The other hand went to rest gently next to his crotch. He grabbed a fistful of Riley's black hair, curling it in his white fist, pulling his head, downwards, to the side... Exposing his neck. It looked like it gleamed with a beautiful sheen of sweat, of life, every little vein, every little artery inside of him beckoning with a gorgeous and seductive promise. Just under the skin a pulse went. Thump, thump. Thump, thump.
His lips parted, white. "You're pushing your luck."
Then he bit into the flesh.
For him, it was as if a flood of fresh life streamed wonderfully into him, burning beautifully in his throat, running through his chest... The heart throbbed... Across his arms and into his hands, tingling with new-kindled strength... The heart throbbed... Over his stomach, satisfied at last, between his legs, there was a new satisfaction... The heart throbbed... Down, through his entire body. It was the headiest liquor. And most. Gratifying. For a moment the heart stopped, and then resumed, a stuttering pace...
He brought his mouth away from Riley's neck, the boy slightly cold in his arms, but most definately still alive. Velerus bit his bottom lip gently. They had flushed a gorgeous crimson. And he let Riley go. Whether or not he had the strength to stand depended upon his stamina. His willpower, too.
He smiled. "Yes. You're pushing it." And he walked away, into the trees, his ears throbbing with the memory of the drumming heartbeat. His scent would be easy to follow - he would not go far - the boy could find him, if he wished.
(OOC: Ooh! P.S. I know that Riley doesn't have normal blood. I'll get to that bit. And he ain't been drained. Just, er, enough to make him a bit chilly.)

((PERFECTO FOR MY EPIC LIL' IDEA. if i can manage to work it in. xD))
Had his eyes not been fixed on his partner's face, he wouldn't have noticed the slight widen of the eyes when the hume had asked what his 'friends' looked like. Riley blinked, looking in front of himself for a moment. Was his darker side telling the truth? Was Velerus lying to him? The black haired male's eyes flickered to his pale skinned ally as he started to explain what they looked like. The eighteen year old listened, taking the advice his other part muttered to him. Listen to the tone, look at his eyes, facial expressions, movements with body, word choice... Riley bit his lip, almost biting into it and causing it to bleed, and he watched Velerus as he described his friends.
One with black hair, that looked young... A fair and slight pointy-ear? What? The Eorzean boy thought of an elf and wondered if his ally meant that. Riley's eyes flickered to amber for a moment, and for a moment his vision went blank, but just for a moment. It returned normal as soon as his ally went on to explain another one. His eyes flicked back to his pale skinned partner's face, and he could feel a bit of small jealousy inside him when he caught the almost loving tone, the sigh, the slight smile. Why did he feel jealous? He looked away, only saying, "Thanks for the description."
Riley stopped suddenly in his steps, his eyes almost narrowed and deep amber. His dark side was out again. And he was annoyed at his... host. His host wasn't doing what he wanted. That Velerus was lying, and Riley knew it, but now the eighteen year old was trying to deny it. As he was slightly further ahead, darker Riley turned around a bit, looking at the pale male, his eyes bright. Then he glanced at the side. Next, he half tackled the other person, pinning them against a tree with teeth slightly bared.
"You're LYING, aren't you?" He was very close, his hands on Velerus' shoulders and pinning him against the treebark. But he didn't know what was making him press his body against the slightly shorter male... Darker Riley growled, both at the person he had pinned and at himself. Then, those amber eyes returned to blue, however they were just a bit darker. Upon realising what he, or rather, his other side did, Riley bit his lip, looking down slightly. Then he suddenly kissed Velerus, though after five seconds, the eighteen had pulled away, shaking out of embarrassment, a pale tint to his cheeks. "I'm s-sorry about that..." he murmured, timidly, stepping back a few steps and turning away, staring down at the floor.
He really couldn't believe he just did that...
((OOOHHH haha. i wonder what velerus' reaction is... very much. xD))

(OOC: Ooh, I'm not very good with heights. I'm not really sure, maybe five foot four. Not the tallest person in the world by any means, but not tiny either. I think he's like a dominant, belittling but indeniably charming... femme... fatale. Most of the time. HE'S HIDING IT.)
Velerus could not help but titter, though very much under his breath, at Riley's comment of going and chaining himself up if the need be, then partially taking it back. The words had seemed quite passionate. Did the boy really care for others to that extent - or, almost? How nice. He doubted it a little, somehow. He also had doubts about Riley's allegiance to him, especially how it might become when they met these friends of Velerus'. He did not seem like the type, but there was a possibility Riley could side with them instead.
Now he wanted to know what they looked like. Velerus started. But went straight into explaining. "I... I don't know if they will be together or if there will be more than I anticipated... But there is a fair chance there'll be one, raven-haired, young... looking. Maybe the pointy-ear, also. He is very fair, and slight. "And then there is another. He is pale. His hair... red as sunset. He is... He cut off, sighing, with a slight smile. Hate though there was between them, Velerus could not deny the attraction he felt towards the warrior, and he could not supress the idea that he could feel the same.

Cerulean blue eyes flicked down to the floor, looking at the barely noticeable footprints that Velerus left behind. The eighteen year old looked up when his ally spoke, catching sight of their raised eyebrows. Riley frowned a little bit, standing up straight again and quickening his pace so that he walked to the side, though slightly behind, the pale skinned man. He kept his head down, eyes narrowing as he looked towards the humanoid, just as he started to speak, explaining his friends.
A small smile came onto his face when Velerus warned him to not be vicious. He couldn't really not be vicious, he couldn't just decide when that weird spirit would come out, or go back in. Riley blinked slowly, wondering what sort of business it was, but he felt too caught up by other things.
He didn't catch the flickered smile on his ally's face when he looked up, eyes flashing amber for a moment before settling back on sapphire. "If I feel... stable enough, I would come with you to your... meeting, but if I feel unstable, even slightly, I'm leaving and going to some barren place on this world, and hold myself in chains," the eighteen year old let a small mischievous grin come upon his face, and added, "I'm joking about the chains. But I will try getting somewhere alone..." Riley frowned a little, looking down ever so slightly, causing the upper half of his face to be covered in shadows. Now that he thought about it, Velerus did act a little... different from other people, and there seemed to be a soft, careful glint in his eyes...
He's been lying to you, I'm going to think about that, actually, so don't you try persuading me to... attack him.
"What do they, your 'friends', look like? I can easily spot people in a crowd..." Riley murmured, looking back up at Velerus, who seemed to be a little further ahead. The eighteen year old merely shrugged to himself, quickening his pace again to walk beside the other male.

Velerus stopped his scouring of the forest abruptly as his ears caught the low growl that seemingly came from behind him. He turned his head, frowning, but only to see Riley bounding towards him and then backing up slightly as he came within millimetres of collision. He turned back, apparently dismissive. Grief. Perhaps Riley was a werewolf or other animalistic person - thinking back, he had certainly shown just enough beastiality to prove that if it were so. But it was an even more displeasing and unattractive thought... Yet unlikely.
He turned his head again when Riley tapped him on the shoulder, but carried on walking, as lightly as before. It hadn't struck him, his careful-footedness, as being something that might arouse suspicion of bad intent in his young ally. But of course, he was unaware too of the other's thoughts.
"You wish to know of my friends?" he raised his eyebrows again, and turned his head to the path. "What is there to say..." It was not a question, at least not for Riley, but it made Velerus think... He should give Riley the worst impression of his 'friends' he could muster without making it downright obvious that they were actually nothing of the sort...
"We are little more than aquaintances, certainly not intimate... They are perhaps a little prejudiced, particularly against me. Make sure you don't behave too vicious, dear boy... They're quite violent... But we were hoping to meet somewhere to... discuss our business." He turned back briefly, a flicker of a smile upon his face momentarily. Hopefully that was sufficient and not too unconvincing.

Narrowing eyes a bit against the cold, Riley could feel his body starting to get used to the freezing temperatures of the mountain. Luckily his body could adjust quickly. However, everything hurt more before it started to get used to everything. The eighteen year old looked down at the floor, seeing rather faint footprints of his own. A small smile came to his lips as he remembered how light he was, therefore not creating very deep footprints. He suddenly shivered, feeling a drop of snow on his cheek and he shook his head a bit, messing up his black hair.
Looking up slowly, the male saw that Velerus had started to walk as if he was weightless, like he was floating. He smiled a little bit, liking how his ally was careful on his feet... but he could not stop the sudden rush of wariness in his body and the quiet whisper in the surrounding area, though only allowing the black haired eighteen year old hear it.
"Pfft.. Look him, Riley... He's obviously up to something... He changed the way he steps as if he was going to go murder some people! It may even be YOU! In order to keep alive, you. should. kill. him. fir-"
Cutting the words off with a sudden growl as he jumped off a small ledge, not noticing the forest in front, and pushing the weird voice out of his head - who was, no doubt probably trying to get Riley to murder Velerus - but then eighteen year old shivered as he almost bumped into his pale skinned ally and stepping back slightly. Maybe the dark... side was right. Maybe... He flinched a bit, not really wanting to be manipulated by the... evil half's calm, dark toned voice (which was also a bit seductive). The thing was going to try and make Riley kill his ally by persuasading him, perhaps by repetition, seduction or even making him just snap and just kill the pale skinned humanoid to get rid of the voice...
As he looked around with his deep cerulean eyes, Riley saw that the forest was rather green, and thick, and wild. The eighteen year old blinked, feeling that his body was now suited for the environment, and he gently tapped Velerus on the shoulder, tilting his head a bit and putting on an accidental innocent look. "So... Your friends... You said that they'll be here, most likely, so I think I should know a bit about them..." He trailed off, blinking a couple of times, suddenly wishing that the quiet hum in his mind would go away and leave him be. A small smile slipped it's way onto his face as he waited for an answer from Velerus, surprised at his own courage to ask his ally about that. Normally, he'd just not say anything at all - well, not until he knew this person a little bit better...

Heiwa had done that Heartless in. It took her a bit but she got it. Now, to deal with the rest of the creatures. Things didn't look good for Ryuu and Fain but it wasn't like she could get to them in time. It was up to each, their own individual powers.
Another Heartless swooped down at her from on high, Heiwa retaliated with a powerful swing of her Harmonious Keyblade.
Come to think of it, she wondered why the weapon had chosen her. If she had been a master, the Keyblade would never leave her. Heiwa was merely a wielder, not a master. Masters could bring forth any Keyblade at will. Heiwa could only bring forth the Harmonious Keyblade, the only one that would come to her until it chose another over herself. Hopefully, that never happened. Heiwa loved her Keyblade.
She managed to hit that Heartless, sending it more skyborn as it spun out of control and toppled onto the ground in a heap but not defeated yet. Scrambling back onto its feet, the Heartless screeched at her angrily before attmepting to take flight again.
Heiwa was already upon it though. Swinging away, she slashed it in a criss-cross formation and before long, it was gone. Dispersing into a puff of darkness.
She wasn't sure how the others were doing nor how they saw her. If anything, she hoped she wasn't a burden in this fight.

Ryuukaji could not see much of the battle for in his eyes the area was spinning, the creatures and the people staggering, jerking, swirling blurs. But it was not shapeless and as his head cleared marginally, he saw Fain entirely bowled over and lay sprawled on his back, which he knew, though it had healed quickly, was still delicate as any other part of him. He attempted to get up off his knee, but his scraped legs could not support him and he fell over again, but he called to Fain - it came out more of a shout than he had intended - "Get up! You're not that weak, Fain, get up!" His voice was tinged with spite and the Elf looked at him with wide, rather hurt eyes and realised he could get up. He sprang to his feet and, though a large body was charging towards him, he found he could quickly darted to one side, and, as it continued hopelessly ahead, he leapt onto its back and struck at the back of its head with all the strength he could spare. It was the one he had tussled with earlier, and it exploded in a cloud of black mist.
Meantime the Warrior had managed to stagger to his feet and was now thrusting his sword inaccurately at a relentless Wyvern; he managed to strike its powerful chest, and the beast died, leaving behind its choking fumes. By now he had regained most of his steadiness, though his head and body still throbbed; he used the pain to drive himself to attacking his foes. He hewed down two more wyverns while Fain danced about, intent on destroying more of the large bodied creatures in the same way he had triumphed moments before.

Velerus' icy skin of course greeted the wind and made no change in him, the snow falling flat against his bare hands and face as it would against equally hard, white stone, and resting there, forming whiter specks on his pallity. But he heard the juttering in the boy's frozen voice and could not supress a smirk as he turned to see him apparently weakened by the chill; he was reminded again of the feebleness of humans. His eyes then flickered to the footprints his carelessness had left behind - a faint, triangular shape and a sharp, thin heel. He began to walk off again, but this time without even the slightest crunch in the snow, going as lightly as if his body had no weight. Mainly this was to leave no trace of himself behind, just in case, but it was also his first bash at arousing envy or maybe admiration in his near-human accomplice.
It was only a few metres down the steep slope that, after a short and vertical drop, cushioned by withering grey grasses, he entered the trees. Wide, canopied trees they were, with pale, thin trunks and wide, fanning branches bunched with yellowish leaves. There were also wide pines with several overhead branches, not too unlike the shorter deciduous plants in their shape and peculiarity, but darker in colour, and sweeter smelling. However the scenery was not otherwise entirely surprising and soon he forgot about the appearance of the mountain forest and took to scanning every uneven aisle of trees, his sharp eyes peering into the thick undergrowth, greener here, unless it was for the shadow, and near unspeckled with the white disease of the eternal winter upon the ridge.
The forest, abundant in foreign squarkings and the low bumbling of insects and mammals, might have seemed a strange place for Velerus' friends to be sought out in; but he was desperate to have his hands on them. The sneaking, conceited travellers they were - especially the fair pointy-ear - it would not be surprising if they were sneaking through this thick tangled jungle.

Kaiji watched the action around him for a moment. Heiwa being attacked by a wyvern, the other males being attacked by Big Bodies. Or, as he liked to call them, fatties. He decided to help Heiwa out, the gentleman side of his mind forced him. It was too late for she had done it in herself. 'She's a Keyblade master for a reason.' He thought with a stupid grin. His left hand went to his right wrist, grabbing the serpet-looking bracelet. He poured a little magic into it and a very long read snake with fire on its spine was around his shoulders.
"Go get 'em, Snakey." Kaiji said with a grin. He grabbed the snake's tail end and flung its head towards the fatty. "Constrict!" He yelled as one of his swords appeared in his hand. The snake's body had enclosed the heartless and began squeezing, keeping it in place.
Kaiji charged in at full speed at the fatty. The snake returned into the bracelet on his wrist before Kaiji actually attacked. Somehow the fatty was fast enough to turn and bounce him off its ginormous belly. He flew a few feet back and landed on his butt.
He figured stopping it with some fusion attacks would be enough. His fingers quickly took one of his Earth controlling rings and slipped it on the finger that a fire ring was. This, he hoped, would result in a lava attack.
He activated both at the same time. Rocks floated up and began swirling around as fire flew from his fingertips to heat them up. They melted into lava as he hoped, and streamed out around the fatty. (OOC:btw this isnt the one they were fighting,. it is another he spotted.)
It froze into rock again around the heartless, freezing it into place. His grip on the sword's hilt was crazy hard. He jumped into the air above the heartless and slashed it in half. In a puff of black smoke it was gone, just as the heart that floated up after it.
His eyes soon turned to the others' fight. He hoped they could handle it. His butt was in some pain from the fall, seeing as it actually bounced him up a few feet as well as away.

His nose hurt a bit, as he had fell on the floor, hitting the cold snow with the tip of his nose. It stung... quite a lot. He stayed down for a moment, eyes closed, feeling the need to cough up blood but then the feel just vanished. Maybe it was his imagination? It did run wild after every time he teleported using Aura.
Slowly, Riley opened his eyes as well as pulling away from the white snow, sitting back on his legs. Navy eyes looked around, seeing mostly ivory colours, but seeing ash grey plants beneath a cover of snow above them. He stood up, feeling himself shiver as the cold temperatures forced through to his skin. He frowned a bit, casting his gaze elsewhere, and saw Velerus, his ally. The eighteen year old immediately went back to studying their surroundings, tilting his head back and watching the mountain summit warily. Sure, he may have lived at the bottom of a mountain in Eorzoa, but now, now he just felt different. The mountain was different than the one he used to live by. It may have just been the fact that it was taller, or just colder.
Riley's deep cerulean eyes flicked to his ally as soon as a low mutter was spoken. The Eorzoan hume tilted his head a bit, before realising what the mutter meant. He was to follow Velerus down the mountain. He would protest - preferring to go his own way and perhaps explore his surroundings - but he did not wish to leave his ally alone. The other male had said to him that he was weak, and that he hadn't faked the alliance. He blinked slowly, watching as the pale skinned man made his way down a small slope, stepping onto a path that was there, just invisible.
Blinking a few times, Riley sighed and flicked his foot, ridding the boot of the snow that settled upon it, before turning slightly and placing a hand on the wall for support then immediately flinching. It was freezing. He wasn't that used to the cold! Riley shivered, keeping his hand on the wall, forcing himself to keep it there as he followed the footsteps in the snow left by Velerus. "L-lead the way..." He hadn't meant to stutter, but... well, an icy breeze had caught the young man in it's flow, causing him to shiver and his teeth to chatter, resulting in the stutter.
Honestly, how could some people survive out in the freezing snows?!

A Fleeting Hope ( Darkee ) « Result #16 on Sept 27, 2009, 2:51pm »
Velerus, only after having dropped joltingly to new ground, was surprised at the suddenness and yet smoothness of the short ride to their next destination. It had been like being pleasantly swept of his feet and then the feeling during the momentary journey was that of floating weightlessly on a wave, like a dream. But then the landing was as abrupt as the taking off, and the beauty of the transportation was soon ended but not forgotten. Unlike Riley, although he was no doubt more used to these means of travelling than him, or anyone such as himself, his feet were rooted into the ground as soon as his toes touched down. It was as if the land had been waiting for him, and long intended to keep him here until a purpose had been well and truly fulfilled.
A glimmer of a pleased smile crossed his face as fresh surroundings instantly warped into view around them. They seemed to be on a mountain - he wondered if it was actually the undeniably gusty wind and snow that had knocked Riley off his feet - greyish plants lay thick all about them atop the umber rock, indiscernible under a thick blanket of snow, though he wasn't sure it kept anything that might be growing here none too warm. The looming approach of the summit rose jaggedly above them; sheer rock and descendable mountain face both tumbled far below them. They had fortunately, or perhaps not, landed in between, on a snowy, moreover flat ledge. To reach the ground below, where surely any wars would be raging, where any travellers would be walking or wandering, there was forest thick to penetrate. In places, hazy steam rose up and swirled around in the wintry breeze of the air. His mind was driven to wonderment, and without waiting for Riley though muttering low to him to follow, he began to step surefootedly down the small hill and onto the nonexistent path of the mountain.

update for riley kaeli. « Result #17 on Sept 25, 2009, 3:08pm »
----------------------------------------- YOUR INFO -----------------------------------------
Your Username: darkee
Your current character(s)[including the one your making]:--- riley, vaan, rex.
---------------------------------------- YOUR CHARACTER INFO ----------------------------------------
Character name: Riley Kaeli.
Age: Eighteen years old.
Gender: Male.
Appearance: Riley is thin, and slender, with well developed muscles, that are hidden. He stands at the height of five foot four inches, due to having slightly shorter than average parents. His hair is actually black, though it may seem deep brown in certain lights. It is styled in a way of messy, though tamed so it won't get in his way. He may have thin strands of hair over his eyes, which are a deep, yet bright blue colour, with a small sliver of green in his right eye.
Sometimes, though, his eyes will turn a golden amber colour, meaning that Riley is currently his darker, more evil side.
Not very noticeable, but Riley will sometimes wear a thin layer of make up, to hide his pale tan. Though, he doesn't always put the make up on, revealing his true skin colour, the pale tan.
Clothing tends to vary; mostly he'll be wearing long black trousers, a black belt slung over one hip, and a black sleeveless shirt, as well as a black hooded cape. His shoes are black boots that a SOLDIER (ffvii) would often wear. Yes, he quite likes to wear black...
When not covered, you'll see a black tatoo marking around his arm, which is thin. Riley tends to wear one fingerless black leather glove on his right hand, to protect it whenever fighting with his sword.
Personality: He's a nice guy, really. Riley is rather intelligent, but pretends to not be as intelligent as he is, as he fears that he may end up a target due to his cleverness. Quite calm, and can be quiet, but he will open up more to others when he gets to know them better. Riley will put his friends first if they're in danger, running to their aid and helping them in any way possible. He will not be taken as weak, and calling this male weak will definitely cause Riley to hate the one who called him that. He is hard to anger, and is quite patient, able to stand for ages if someone keeps bothering him. Riley loves company, even if they don't talk much. He is rather helpful to people if they ask for help, although sometimes he may just make an excuse out of not helping them.
When his eyes are amber, he is more... darker, more evil. His voice seems to be in a permanent growl, though sometimes it will be a careful purr. Riley is more prone to attacking, and much more solitary. He will shrug off any help, and do everything by himself. Annoying Riley when his eyes are amber is a big mistake; he'll probably attack, maybe kill, you. He is so dangerous in this form, and ever so slightly insane, sometimes letting out cruel chuckles every once in a while. He will torture people for information, a terrible, dark smile on his face, and will often kill the person if their information deems unuseful. He's rather reckless, and cunning, too, when his eyes are amber, and Riley is also a bit lustful, whether it be sexual lust or blood lust or something else.
Riley has a fondness for wine, though he won't drink it that much. He never gets tipsy or properly drunk when he drinks the liquor, though.
Also, a big problem, for Riley, is the fact that he sometimes hears the voice of his darker side, trying to get him to do things, like kill innocent people, or do bad, bad things...
His alliance lies with the light, though, if needed, Riley will go to the darkness, but he truly allies himself to the light.
"I'm torturing somebody for information, and because I'm a cruel person I really like doing that."
Abilities:enhanced senses; smell, eyesight. magick; curaga [restores a high amount of energy to any ally. damages undead enemies (such as skeletons).]a ardor [deals massive fire damage to all enemies in range.] shock [deals massive electrical damage to all enemies in range.] aero [deals wind damage to all enemies in range.]
aura; a stange power, which can be manipulated to your needs. aura can be used to sense things and track through telepathic methods. it can also be controlled to becom offensive. || sometimes, aura will disappear for a few days, until it is fully mastered. conjure [creates any creature using aura; like a summon.] invisibility [hides the target's aura, rendering them invisible and unfindable for ten mintes.] sense [enables the user to look at the aura of everything. useful for searching for someone in darkness. is quite like a heat sensor, but not made of just reds and such.] teleport [causes the user (and selected people) to go wherever they wish, unless they are rather weak at the moment (taking them somewhere random). requires physical contact if taking others.] strengthen [heightens the power of any weapon, making it stronger.] freeze [freezes any target for three minutes.]
Weapons: riley wields many types of swords, but his main weapon of choice is a metre long sword, the steel cut so that it can cut through anything possible. the blade is tinted dim blue and slightly gold.
when holding his sword, riley will sometimes hold it normally, back straight, but he feels more natural when wielding a sword backwards, so the blade sticks out behind him.
Summons:
Summon Abilities:
Summon Appearance:
History: He came from a small mountain village that was surrounded by forests and waterfalls. He came from the land Eorzoa (FFXIV). Riley liked it there, and would have gone to explore it more if it weren't for heartless appearing in the mountainous regions. They created dark portals, and absolutely destroyed his village. Riley was only nine when this happened, so he was crying when the full damage was visible after several warriors had sent the heartless back to the realm they came from. He was the only one who survived the destruction of his village. The few warriors who saved Riley took him to the waterfall camp, where he lived as an orphan. After a few years, Riley at the age of fourteen, he took up swordsmanship, fighting with the sword backwards, which some thought odd. A couple of years later, the age of sixteen, Riley was sent out on a mission to visit the ruins of a castle, and destroy any creatures lurking there. He did so, happy to help out in any way he could. It took a week for him to get there, and along the way, strange things were happening to the boy. He was manipulating Aura, by accident of course. Upon reaching the castle ruins, Riley was suddenly snatched by someone, who turned out to be an Elf who was a superb user of Aura. The Elf said that he'd been watching Riley and his 'adventures with Aura', and that he would train Riley to use it. However, after being sent out on a quick test, Riley accidently tripped, and he suddenly found himself in another world. Twilight Town. And all so suddenly, a demon like creature attacked him. Riley was unable to fight back, for the creature had pinned him to the floor. It was disgusting, as the demon thing just ripped his heart out, just like that. And it ATE his heart. Gross! Now, Riley was strong, he only fell unconscious, but for a full week. Someone had found him and put him in the Twilight Town hospital. He was meant to stay there for a month, but Riley was bored. He left the hospital during the dead of night, then left Twilight Town. That was when his adventures began. Fighting heartless, helping people, trying to master Aura... Exploring. Trying to find a way back home... But now, Riley wants to stay in these worlds, but a visit to Eorzoa would be nice...
Position: Good. He will, if needed, go to the dark side.
Race: Human, except, no heart! xD That makes him a heartless/nobody, ammirite? Well, like, nobody with emotions. Grah. We'll never know. Human, except with no heart. Still has emotions.
Profile Word: door2darkness
Sample Post: Riley was sat on a brick wall, arms crossed and eyes narrowed. He was bothered by something, but was unable to think of what it could be. The male had the feeling of being stalked, but after using a couple spells of Aura, there was no one around. His nose twitched, then he fell off the brick wall, on his hands and knees. Riley's throat started to feel rough, and then, like normal, he coughed up blood. Stumbling a little, he stood up, brushing himself off.
That was when he heard the sounds of someone moving, which caused him to summon his sword in a flash of pale blue light. Riley held his sword backwards, wary, cautious, yet curious about what was there. His voice calm, and quiet, Riley called out. "Who's there?"
Misc.: riley will cough up blood every few days, and it will be normal red blood. he will cough up blood 'cause of the problem of having no heart. however, if you cut riley, or wound him in any way and you'd expect the crimson blood to come out, that kind of blood is actually purpley blue.
basically, i rewrote the appearance and personality, as well as the abilties and weapons, and added the misc. section.

The small disappointed smile on his ally's face made Riley tilt his head a bit, sort of worried, but he said nothing, although his sapphire eyes betrayed him. The eighteen year old felt himself tense a bit at how his name was softly said twice; it made him feel a bit wary. But, the male did nothing, though it was tempting to move away a bit upon feeling the light touch on his back.
"Do your magic, boy."
A slight nod, and Riley closed his eyes, allowing himself to focus on the last dregs of Aura. He sniffed a bit, drawing the sweet scent of Velerus towards him, almost distracting him. The male human angled his head slightly so that his newfound ally could not see the slight reddening of his face, and then refocused his concentration, and suddenly, he felt blissful, and warm, and powerful.
It was quite sudden when both males disappeared, leaving behind nothing but scents that would soon enough die.
Riley immediately fell over upon feeling ground beneath his feet, feeling cold snow.

Riley looked whitish and, almost, marble-like in the pale glow of the torches. If it were not from the empty warmth radiating off him slightly from where he was, Velerus might have forgotten about the post-human state of his ally. He actually got quite a surprise when he suddenly swept forwards and put a hand around his wrist. The sensitivity in his palm surged and for an enthralling moment he had a rush of hot carnality. His eyelids fluttered; his lips parted... But then the boy opened his own mouth, and the disturbing scent of his breath washed over him, sharply pulling him out of the short-lived sensation and tinging his mood with disappointment.
It seemed they would be travelling in some other way, unknown to him. By what Riley meant by this talk of Aura, Velerus did not know. Even without knowledge of it, he wasn't sure he liked the sound of such a thing, probably because of this. He had a feeling it wasn't very reliable, either. He wanted to hiss and shout at the stupid boy, but he held it all in, and responded only with the same clear, composed face, and a slight disappointed smile, as if saying 'well, that can't be helped, we'll just have to make do.' Did he seem nice? Tolerant? He certainly had to have the patience of the world.
"Riley, Riley..." he said very softly, feeling a little amorous, his fingers touching on the back of the adressee, a feather touch. Contact might be needed if his means of teleportation involved his own powers. "Do your magic, boy."

((WHOO! xD))
"The Land of Dragons"
That was what he heard in response from the other person, and amusement in the tone made the eighteen year old's cheeks become more hinted with red. He nodded a bit, hearing the concern in his ally's voice. A small shake of the head was a movement from him, and Riley didn't notice he just shook his own head. There was one reason, and that was... that person? spirit? well, whatever it was, that made him shake his head. The eighteen year old blinked slowly, watching Velerus with his head half tilted, facial skin returning to it's slightly pale tanned colour. Where he lived in Eorzoa didn't catch that much sun, as his village was caught in the shadow of the mountains, but when he was taken to the waterfall areas, he spent a bit of time in sunny woodland areas, and lucky for him, Riley tanned quite easily. But, after being sent on a mission to a ruin of an ancient castle, the boy had been paling ever so slightly, and now his skin colour was a pale tan, which was actually quite lovely.
But, well, Riley tended to wear a light layer of make up on his face, making his face seem a bit more whiter.
"Do you have a ship, Riley?"
He looked up, almost suddenly, and saw Velerus looking to him before walking away at an average speed pace. The Hume raised an eyebrow, questioning the question sent at him, before realising that he hadn't told the other person how he got around. Rolling his eyes ever so slightly at the comment, fact, if you will, the male darted over to his ally, grabbing his wrist with his hand.
"Actually, nope-" he popped the 'p' as he said the 'nope', "- I have another way of getting around. I can use Aura to teleport myself to places, but I'm not sure about two... and right now, Aura is a bit... dead. It might take us somewhere other than the Land of Dragons." The eighteen year old furrowed his eyebrows slightly, looking at the floor, letting go of the other person's wrist. Would Aura actually decide to be a good.. ability? Riley had only ended up here by accident...
